Our bbq book tips of the moment
Did you just buy a kamado or other barbecue, or are you in need of extra inspiration? Then consider purchasing a good bbq book. A bbq book is not only fun to buy for yourself but also very nice to give as a gift to a barbecue lover! It is sometimes difficult to see the forest for the trees in terms of bbq books. Therefore, we have made a selection of some of our favorites at the moment. We will also add to this list from time to time with new toppers. Of course, we are also hugely curious about other recommendations! Leave these in the comments and we may add them to the list as well!
Book Jort Althuizen bbq
Of course, the books of Dutch barbecue guru Jort Althuizen cannot be missing from this list. We made a selection of our favorites. We couldn’t really choose which ones we thought were the very best so we’ve added no less than 6 + the book we’re hugely looking forward to: Lowlands BBQ. This book is focused on the low countries (the Netherlands and Belgium) and everything available here. We are very curious!
Big Green Egg – Modus Operandi
Modus Operandi by Big Green Egg is not your average bbq book. This book has a hefty price tag but you’ll get that back in double! The book is a whopping 904 pages, weighs almost 5kg and has 322 (!) recipes! That’s enough to make a dish out of every day for almost a year! This book is aimed at the true barbecue enthusiast. A real eye-catcher to have at home. The dishes are simply explained and the pictures make your mouth water immediately. The ultimate barbecue book!
Julius Jaspers bbq books
The bbq books below are our favorites from top chef Julius Jaspers. The BBQ Bible is one of many books in the “Bible” series and is packed with delicious recipes! In addition, Julius Jaspers is praised for his Smart BBQ method, where you prepare as much as possible in advance so you can spend the most time with your guests. Ideal for both the novice and advanced barbecue enthusiast.
About Smoke – Mr. Wateetons
In one of Mr. Wateetons’ workshops, I won the book “About Smoke” with a contest on who had made the highest fire after 15 minutes. The workshop was immensely educational, and then to go home with such a beautiful book as “About Smoke” was of course extra successful! This book is the best guide for anyone who wants to delve further into smoking food with a barbecue. The book is packed with tips for both hot and cold smoking and includes many delicious recipes as well! Highly recommended, as are the fun workshops!
Yakitori & Korean BBQ – Jonas Cramby
This book is full of delicious (smaller) dishes you can prepare Korean and Japanese style. Ideal for making delicious appetizers for parties. With the recipes in this book, you can add tremendous flavor to your dishes with very little effort! Highly recommended if you also want to grill in a different way.
